We’ve featured this vehicle before when a reader posted it on the VW Camper Blog Facebook Page. But now, after some research, we’ve found more details of this VW Bus courtesy of technology blog, TekDefender.
Originally, we knew it was a a very elaborate DJ Bus with tank tracks to help it move around the snow and ice. What we didn’t realise was that it has also been used on various beaches and it took some effort to get it onto the ski slopes where our original picture was taken.
Created by German events and promotions specialist Bernd Berger the conversion from a 1966 VW Bus cost over $80,000 and features the running gear from a Bombadier snow groomer as well, of course, a 1,000 watt sound system.
As you can see from the pictures it’s been in a number of beach locations but the real challenge was getting it up onto the slopes. After all, it does weigh over 2 tonnes.
